Clinical Excellence

With over two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Joel Berman has established a reputation for precision and mastery in the operating room. His dedication to surgical excellence is matched only by his profound commitment to the literary world, where he continues to explore the intersection of science and storytelling.

The Life and Work of Dr. Joel Berman

Dr. Joel Berman is a practicing general and vascular surgeon in Fountain Valley, California, affiliated with UCI Health. He earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed his surgical residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He served as Chief of Surgery, Director of a Center for Breast Care, and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Southern California Medical Center.

He has also been writing. Quietly. Relentlessly. Across every genre most authors never attempt in a single career. Over 34 published works: four murder mystery novels in the Scalpel series (currently under TV consideration), a WWII account of Nazi slave labor compared to Night by Elie Wiesel, his own father's wartime love letters from a trunk that sat untouched for sixty years, medical reference books, humorous medical poetry, and a surgeon's diary from the COVID pandemic frontlines.

Almost none of it has ever been properly marketed. No social media. No website. No unified platform. That changes now. Visit the Shop to explore the full catalog, or start with the Scalpel Series.
